Here at the Southwest Healthcare Auxiliary, a volunteer provides complementary services for Inland Valley Hospital and Rancho Springs Hospital patients and their families so that the hospital may assist their patrons at the highest level of service. A volunteer may also assist with community outreach programs that interface with and augment established services for the benefit of both patients and staff.
Serving others by giving of our time and talent provide for a meaningful life which can fill our hearts with charity and love. Those who tend to give freely of themselves for the benefit of others are typically happy people, especially when they serve those in a hospital setting during times of stress or anxiety. Our volunteers provide a calming and caring attitude which our patients and their families love.
Edgar Allen, Founder of Easter Seals, once stated, “Your life and mine should be valued not by what we take, but by what we give.” Our volunteers give freely and their lives are full of blessings. Jan Dawald, President of the Auxiliary said, “There can be no higher call than that of serving our neighbor. We do that every day here at Southwest Healthcare Hospitals.”
Collectively the Auxiliary has donated more than 500,000 hours of service. In 2015 we donated $60,000 in scholarships for graduating high school seniors who plan to pursue higher education in the medical field. We invite you to join us in this amazing program as we serve others by Building Relationships that Touch the Heart.
